Good Book

The Birth Order Book by Dr Kevin Leman

What birth order are you? This is a great psychology book that unpacks how our personalities develop based on birth order. Fascinating. Here's some excerpts on character traits of different birth orders.

First borns (this also applies to an only child):

-Leadership ability (take charge, know what to do)
-Aggressive (command respect)
-Perfectionistic (always do things right and thoroughly)
-Organized (have everything under control, always on top of things)
-Driver (ambitious, enterprising, willing to sacrifice to be a success)
-List maker (sets goals and reaches them, planning the day is a must)
-Logical (straight thinker, not compulsive)
-Scholarly (Tend to be voracious readers and accumulators of information and facts)

Middle borns:

-unspoiled (they have grown up squeezed and rootless)
-reasonable expectations (very realistic)
-people pleaser (they tend to make friends and keep them, relationships are very important)
-independent thinker (willing to do things differently, strike out on their own, take a risk)
-compromising (skilled at mediating disputes and negotiating)
-diplomatic (peacemakers, good at seeing issues from both sides)
-secretive (can be trusted with sensitive information, tend to keep things to themselves)

Last borns:

-Charming (likeable, fun to be around, easy to talk to)
-people oriented (social settings and events are their cup of tea)
-tenacious (tireless persistance without taking no for an answer)
-affectionate (engaging, caring, lovable)
-uncomplicated (relaxed, genuine, and trustworthy)
-attention seeking (entertaining and funny, know how to get noticed)

Generally speaking, when it comes to marriage and companionship, the opposite birth orders tend to attract. Great stuff. Read it :)
