I don't know too many people who describe their children or grandchildren as a "punishment". You would teach your kids morals and values but apparently you have no respect or concern for human life. Nice one Barack.

Uggh... what a jerk! He also voted against a ban on partial birth abortion. I would not want to be him... standing before God one day having taken such a stance. He is a disgusting human being... as is Gov. Granholm who has taken the same stance, indicating that she is against the ban because it has no clause for the life of the mother. But if the mother's life was at stake, wouldn't it save her life more quickly by instead giving birth naturally or having a C-section? How is pulling a baby out by it's feet and stabbing it in the back of the head with scissors (while it's head is still inside the birth canal) going to save the mother's life? Maybe save her "social life"... but there is absolutely no excuse. I am so disgusted by these politicians. They say that they are representing the "people"... they certainly aren't representing me... or the babies that they sentence to death. I'm sorry for venting... this topic gets me riled up pretty quickly. I can't imagine how God's heart breaks at the pure evil that our society permits and the desensitization that has occurred because of it. If it breaks mine... He must be in agony over it.
Thanks for the spirited comment Janna! I can tell this is a passionate issue for you, as it is for many, myself included. It's a foundational cornerstone on which our worldviews are built. A candidate's position on abortion is often the sole deciding factor for people when they vote. Obviously, the crux of the argument is, at what point is the fetus a human/person? Is it from the moment of conception (which is my belief)? Is it when the fetus starts to look like a human? Is it when the fetus enters this world? If the unborn are fully human, then nearly every abortion is murder. Period. Some argue that a person is not fully human until they are born because it's after birth that society calculates our existence, that's when a child is named, and that's when a child is baptized and accepted into the family. I'd argue that there really is no difference; the baby is just outside of the womb now. And how about the women's rights activists?? Shouldn't a women have the right to do with her body what she pleases? I couldn't agree more....but the fact is, that fetus is NOT part of her body. It is a distinct entity with a distinct blood type, DNA, and body parts. It may be attached to her body but it is NOT part of her body. We may never see an overturn of Roe v Wade but I'm certain it's our moral obligation to continue to speak for those that cannot speak for themselves.
I agree with you 100%. :) I try to remember how God must feel when people treat human life with such disdain. It is heartbreaking! My dad has said that he thinks people fight for "pro-choice rights" because that's the loophole that allows them to feel okay about aborting babies. The government gives them the supposed "right," so it is permissable/justifiable in their own minds. As soon as you take away that right... they'll have to face the fact that it is wrong. I don't know... I think a lot of people would still try to justify it somehow though.
Desensitization to evil has crushed the morals of our society. What was once considered completely despicable and unacceptable is now the norm. It is really really sad.
Look at how people treat Obama... like he is some saint? People actually faint in his presence... some treat him like the second coming of Christ. How ridiculous! There are so many "red flags" when it comes to him... but people brush off his questionable positions and views and they follow him blindly because he is well-spoken (he just sounds good... but he doesn't have good policies by any stretch of the imagination) and he is somewhat charismatic and charming.
I think these verses sum it up quite well..
"'Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
"'Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'"
-- Matthew 7:15-23
Here's another video that someone sent me today... this speaks volumes about Barack Obama too:

I'm amazed that Chris Matthews even grilled him on this because he is a liberal as you can get! Usually the media gives Obama passes on EVERYTHING.
Funny clip. Talk and rhetoric only go so far. It's easy to try to be an inspiring, positive cheerleader. But sooner or later, it's going to come down to action and after all this, I'm still not certain what he would do as president or what he's done thus far in the Senate.
