Lookin' for Love in All the Wrong Places

Unless you're hiding under a secluded rock somewhere, you've probably experienced the phenomenon called love in some form or another. You know, that thing that makes your knees weak, your words stumble, your heart pound, and causes you to lose all reason? The word itself is almost indefinable and conjures up different meaning and thoughts in each of us. "All you need is love!" or so the Beatles claimed. You can fall in love and fall out of it. You can have your heart broken or you can break someone else's (all of which I'm pretty certain I've experienced). Love can be an amazing feeling and love can hurt. But is it a feeling, an action, or a thing? You can give it, you can make it, you can show it, and you can fake it.

Hard to believe that it's real if you've been in love with someone and now you see them on the street and they don't even acknowledge you. Don't say it if you don't mean it. It's only real if it's unconditional and keeps no record of wrongs. In fact, real love goes a step further and reconciles. Only give it if you don't expect anything in return. Love trumps all. Love wins.

Uh oh... I hope that this post isn't a result of you getting burned. :( If it is... I guarantee that pretty much everyone can empathize.

One thing that always reassures me that, when people disappoint you... God never does. His love never fails. We only exist because He loved us enough to create us and, even when life hurts so much that you can barely stand it, He is always there to remind us that we are LOVED more than we can possibly imagine.
